A Liberal Marines Progressive Perspective

Marines are defenders of the republic and the Constitution. That is our oath, that is our purpose, that is our calling. Many are Democrats. This is the journal of one such Marine. This leatherneck's progressive perspective is as follows...

"...made Glorious Summer, by this Sun of York...": The Corruption and Machiavellian Nature of the Fox News Channel Posted by Hello
Ahoy there to all aboard the blog. Like many of you all (I would imagine), I continue to monitor the Pope's condition with bated breath, hoping against hope that The Holy Father will somehow pull through this great struggle and prevail. Hereupon, I'm going to make a quick post about yesterday's late morning/early afternoon disturbing and extremely cruel performance (or non-performance, depending on how you see it) by the Fox News organiztion in regard to the Pope's health status. By now, all probably know that the Fox News organization showed its unscrupulous arse for all the world to see when they prematurely and stupidly declared that the Pope had died when (in fact) he had not! For further details about what happened, go to the following link http://slate.msn.com/id/2116097/. Fox News once again has demonstrated how decadent, depraved and defiled a "journalistic" organization it truly is at its' core. Fox News, by its' very nature and gross lack of substance, has ZERO CREDIBILITY as far as being respected as a legitimate news gathering organization; yesterday's performance simply solidified that belief. Simply put, Fox News is the joke and scorn of the journalism field...across the board. Fox News is little more than a giant and moronic behemoth that is like the proverbial "bull in a china shop"...thrashing about wildly without any understanding or intellectual processes, simply breaking and devastating anything and everything that comes in its' path without any regard nor concern for the consequences. Bottom line is this: Fox News should be ashamed of its' sheer lack of journalistic integrity and its' just downright lack of human decency. In fact, the Fox News organization should be reprimanded and investigated by the FCC for its' haphazard and reckless modus operandi when it comes to news gathering and news dissemination. Fox News (as an instrument of journalism or, so they claim) seems not to grasp the concept that they (as a news gathering organization) have a sacred trust with the viewers and the public as a whole to get the story straight and provide accurate information. Fox News, in typical fashion, failed to deliver on that pledge. Instead, Fox News rushed to judgement in terms of the Pope's health status and in the process "dropped the ball" and provided incompetent and unsubstantiated information that proved to be nothing but a disservice to the community as a whole. In fumbling badly and due in most part to their greed for ratings, Fox News (once again) jumped the gun only to land squarely on their face. Yesterday Fox News (like the jackasses they are) prematurely and without any concrete substantiation mind you declared the Pope was deceased (http://www.theconservativevoice.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=4429) when in fact he was not deceased! Come on Fox, what kind of news organization are you...if you are one at all? Fox News, have you no scruples? Gee whiz, it reminds of me of the line from 'A Few Good Men" where Col. Jessup tells the judge presiding over the general court-martial: "I don't know what the hell kind of unit you're running here" (http://www.allstarz.org/tomcruise/goodmenscript.htm). Fox News (once again) continues to mess up in its usual messed up way; with its' characteristic disdain and utter disregard for journalism honesty and integrity. Yesterday, in declaring that the Pontiff had passed when in fact he had not, Fox News demonstrated its complete lack of human understanding, human sympathy, human emotion and human sentiment. Without any regard for the facts and using unsubstantiated, unsupported third-person hearsay, Fox News (once again) showed without a doubt that they possess not one shred of human decency nor concern for the integrity of journalism as a professional institution. Fox News failed (once again) to rise to the occasion when it showed absolutely no consideration for how such a premature, crass, brazen and outrageous statement such as the Pope has died...when in fact he had not would impact and affect the tens and hundreds of millions (even billions) of people that are totally consumed with the present health status of the Pope. Point being, Fox News simply does not care how their reckless performance and lack of integrity impacts the public trust and the public well-being...THEY JUST DON'T CARE. At Fox News, the truth be damned without any concern for the honor and integrity of the journalism profession nor without any concern for the public welfare...at Fox News, it's all about the ratings regardless of the facts, the truth nor the common good. Because of this, the only conclusion I can come to is that the Fox News organization is run and crewed by people with a sociopathological bent that have absolutely no concept of remorse nor of how their actions affect other people. Yesterday, Fox News presented its' true colors for all to see and in spectacular fashion. The Fox News organizations behavior was outrageously disrespectful, competely reprehensible and totally without merit. I only hope this gross display of journalistic sloppiness and ineptitude will be long remembered and not soon forgotten by the public at large. In short, Fox News is not a news organization...it's the modern face of "yellow journalism" and Fox News has shown time and time again that it has absolutely NO place in the pantheon of real American journalism (remember: it was Fox News that prematurely declared George W. Bush the winner of the 2000 Presidential election before the voting and counting in Florida was concluded, http://sandiego.indymedia.org/en/2002/12/3311.shtml) . Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States and our greatest President, once said: "...it is better to be thought of as a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt". Well, yesterday, Fox News removed all doubt. Semper Fidelis
