A Liberal Marines Progressive Perspective

Marines are defenders of the republic and the Constitution. That is our oath, that is our purpose, that is our calling. Many are Democrats. This is the journal of one such Marine. This leatherneck's progressive perspective is as follows...

U.S. Marine,0300 MOS,eight years in,honorably discharged,college-educated. To all the damned trolls, you better believe there are liberal Marines. Read "War Is A Racket" by 2-time Medal of Honor recipient Maj.Gen.S.D.Butler, plus Lewis B. Puller, Jr.'s "Fortunate Son" and maybe then you'll understand. Semper Fi!

Our President Is Sadly Incompetent

All of those who have served in the United States Marine Corps, all of those honored with the title United States Marine, are feeling the pain. That collective pain that only a fellow devildog can be feeling right about now. All condolences and prayers to the families of those that have laid down their lives in service to the nation and in defense of the Constitution. Yesterdays CH-53 "crash" is what is called a "mass casualty incident" in Corps parlance and that's exactly what this is. In fact, this whole thing brings to mind Hardball the other night (the episode from Camp Pendleton) . I noticed the sobriety level of the devildogs that were used as the background...I mean very little animation; for example, the CG Camp Pendleton and the colonel (along with retired Gen. Bernard Trainor)sitting with him would say motivating things (mostly cliches and platitudes, but some earnest stuff) but they would get no "oorahs" or "devildog sound-offs" from the Marines...which is, believe me, very odd and somewhat disturbing. It just made me see how much this bullshit war is weighing on the Corps and how "de-motivating" this campaign is, especially among the enlisted personnel. And then we see this sad story this morning. My message to the commander-in-chief is this: Don't use and abuse the Marine Corps. By Congressional mandate, there are only 172,000+ of us(minus the 30,000-40,000 reservists which then brings the total to roughly 212,000)...don't abuse us! And don't lie to us! You'll never break the Corps, Mr. President, it's just not possible. But you sure are doing your damn-dest, Mr. President. This is a bad day. Semper Fidelis.
